IEOR wins 4 prizes in PG Cult 2013!!

PG Cult is a huge cultural event exclusively for the Post Graduates of IIT Bombay wherein they get a chance to showcase their cultural skills in the following genres:

  1. Dance

  2. Dramatics

  3. Photography and Fine Arts

  4. Debate and Speaking

  5. Literary Arts

IEOR being a Post Graduate department shows huge enthusiasm and participation in this event every year. This year being the most interesting year as IEOR stood 8th among 28 departments and centers gathering highest points till now i.e. 565.

PG Cult’2013 was held in two phases.

PHASE 1:

Phase 1 of PG Cult was on the 2nd and 3rd Feb’2013.Goutam Sen won 2nd Prize in English Essay Writing competition by writing his thoughts on the topic “Celebrity Obsession in India”. IEOR’s presence reflected in different events of different genres also. Some of the participants are listed below along with the respective events:

  • Solo Singing (Indian) : Rohan Rao , Vishal Shinde

  • Rangoli : Sandhya Tripathi, Vyshnavi Garimella, Sonakshi Agarwal

  • General Quiz: Rohan Rao , Sandhya Tripathi

  • Solo Singing (Western): Rohan Rao

  • English Extempore: Goutam Sen

  • Instant Photography: Rohan Rao, Ruchir Santuka

  • Theme Photography: Rohan Rao

 

PHASE 2:

Phase 2 of PG Cult, 2013 was held on the 2nd of March followed by PG Nite on the next day. IEOR exhibited its dramatics talent on day1 of phase 2 by winning first prize among 12 teams. Details of drama are given below:

IEOR’s Dancing talent was at its best on PG Nite (3rd of March). IEOR secured first position in both Solo as well as group dancing events. Kaushal Jaisar gave a jaw-dropping performance in his solo dance.

Group Dance team (Steppers Crew) included Kaushal Jaisar, Lakshya Sukhwal, Rohit Diwaker, Sonakshi Agarwal, Sai Phatak, Sandhya Tripathy, Sukanta Halder, Akash Gupta, Harshal Malpure, Ruchir Santuka.
