The IE602 (Service Engineering and Management) course is designed to bridge the gap between Management and Engineering background as it basically deals with the topics which involves Managerial objectives to be achieved by applying Engineering methods. A few situations for this can be considered as decision making about selection of products for production among different available choices so as to maximize the profit using the available resources and fulfilling demand, optimizing the routes for transportations with best available resources, preferences for work completion methodology etc. In almost every scenario IEOR techniques are used for meeting the Socio-Eco (Societal and Economic constraints as per the situations provided) requirements. So inorder to get the actual insights of how the operations in such huge industries take place, students visited the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust on 7th Feburary, 2019.
