THE HUNGRY WOLVES

Bhookay Bhediye (The Hungry Wolves) is a pack of highly motivated, specially trained and heavily armed individuals who came together in July 1999, to form this group under the paternity of 'papa bhediya' (The Father Wolf, name withheld for privacy). The loosely formed pack was formally given its name in November 2002 (most probably) and has since grown from strength to strength. The fellow wolves today roam different parts of the world, hunting for their prey silently. Last seen together in May 2003, these can be extremely dangerous, especially if found together.

Origins: All of the wolves seem to share very different pasts and come from very different parts of India. They probably did not know each other before July 1999, when they first met in Aravali Hostel, IIT Delhi. Common hardship (read friendly interaction between the seniors and freshers) and tough environment (read workaholic, sadistic professors) seems to be the cause of their coming together. The next four years of hostel life appears to have gelled them into a group of highly motivated and faithful members.

1. How can they be recognized?

Ans: The members can be identified by a unique blend of their insatiable hunger, unconquerable enthusiasm and sheer street-smartness. They also have a tendency to be extremely creative in doing nothing and in justifying this activity by all means. Whatever little success these individuals have achieved in their respective lives is probably because of this last attribute. They are also capable of talking crap forever and it is advisable to avoid their company especially if more than one of them is present.

2. Who or what do they hunt on?

Ans: Anything from other people's time to any kind of food. Some of them are even known to hunt other fellow bhediyas

3. Where can they be seen together?

Ans: There appears to be no published record of all the members being seen together, but many notorious tales from the times of their college lives seem to suggest that any meeting of all the members creates havoc in the immediate surroundings and effects can be seen far and wide.

4. But why are they always hungry?

Ans: Yup. Always, always.
