Entrepreneurship Training
The IIT Bombay-FedEx Centre for Advanced Logistics and Focused Analytics (ALFA) is committed to promoting student entrepreneurship by helping students turn their ideas into startups. This is facilitated through the ongoing DSSE IDEAS Program, which equips undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students with the entrepreneurial skills and mindset needed to succeed.
In 2024, through the IDEAS Program, the Center supported select teams from the July 2024 cohort with mentorship, workshops, access to prototyping facilities, and micro-grants. These teams benefited from mentorship sessions led by subject matter experts and entrepreneurs, along with valuable connections to IIT Bombay alumni to foster entrepreneurial growth. This support will continue with the January 2025 cohort and beyond, ensuring a sustained focus on logistics innovation.
The Center primarily focuses on logistics and supply chain innovation while also supporting the development of software and SaaS solutions that aid eCommerce sellers and merchants in demand generation, order conversion, pricing intelligence, multi-carrier shipment visibility, and international returns management. Additionally, we provide early-stage support for ideas in fraud management and cybersecurity, particularly addressing online sign-up frauds in logistics, while encouraging solutions to enhance multimodal shipment visibility for improved transparency and efficiency in the freight forwarding industry.
