IEOR departmental magazine 'Optimystic' released

The 2017 issue of the annual departmental magazine Optimystic was released by IEOR head Prof. Narayan Rangaraj. During the occasion, Prof. Rangaraj noted that the first edition was launched in 2014, and commended the efforts of the students in resurrecting the magazine. He also hoped that the magazine would be a regular feature of IEOR and become an avenue for showcasing students' literary and research works.

Umakanta Pattanayak presents his work in OP17 conference

The Conference on Optimization organised by SIAM (Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics) is amongst the most prestigious conferences in the field of optimization. Research scholar Umakanta Pattanayak presented his work titled "Intersection Cuts for Convex Mixed Integer Programs from Translated Cones" at the SIAM Conference on Optimization (OP17) held in Vancouver, BC, Canada from 22-25 May, 2017. He also received the SIAM Student Travel Award for his work. This was a joint work with Prof. Vishnu Narayanan.
