Arnab Bhabak joined IEOR as a post-doctoral fellow and will work with Prof. K.S. Mallikarjuna Rao. He has done his Ph.D. from IIT Guwahati based on the thesis titled "Stochastic Control Problems with Probability and Risk-sensitive Criteria". His primary research interest lies in solving control problems as well as game problems, in the discrete and continuous time setup. He is also interested in continuous-time Markov and semi-Markov Zero-sum games under probability criterion.

Dhawal Thakkar, Ph.D. student of IEOR, presented his work (under the supervision of Prof P. Balamurugan) on "Customer Feedback driven Flight Sequence Scheduling with Flight Leg Importance Assignment" at the 26th International Conference on Air Transport Research Society (ATRS) 2023 held at Kobe, Japan from 1-4th July 2023. His work dived deeper into minimising propagated delays for high-importance flight legs based on customer reviews and the busyness of the airport operations.
