Debanjan Gangopadhyay, Neeraj Kumar, and Gurkirat Wadhwa, Ph.D. students in the IEOR department, attended the Summer School on Operations and Analytics Research (SOAR), on the topics of Advancing Research through Game Theory and Laboratory Experiments, jointly organized by SPJIMR, XLRI and IIT Madras, held at the S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai, from April 6–10, 2026. The workshop brought together researchers working at the intersection of game theory and supply chain operations, including behavioral and experimental aspects of game theory.

Anjali Bhagat, a research fellow at IEOR, IIT Bombay, attended the first-ever "International Conference on Combinatorial Game Theory in Japan" held from March 19-22, 2026. They also presented their work on "Cyclic Sink Subtraction", joint work with Prof. Urban Larsson.

IEOR welcomes Arunselvan Ramaswamy as Associate Professor

I am extremely happy to welcome Prof. Arunselvan Ramaswamy who has joined the Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (IEOR) at IIT Bombay on 27th February, 2026 as Associate Professor.

Arunselvan obtained his Doctorate from IISc in 2016 and has served at  Paderborn University, Germay in various positions such as Academic Associate, Lecturer, Junior Research Head (Data Science and Artificial Intelligence) and Stand-in-Professor. Prior joining IEOR, he served Karlstad University, Sweden as Associate Professor.  

Divya Jyoti Bajpai presented his paper at the ACM Academic Research and Careers for Students (ARCS) 2026.

Divya Jyoti Bajpai, a research fellow at IEOR, IIT Bombay, presented his paper "BEEM: Boosting Performance of EEDNNs Using Multi-Exit Classifiers as Experts", co-authored with Prof. Manjesh Kumar Hanawal at The ACM Academic Research and Careers for Students (ARCS) 2026. The dates for the event were 11 February 2026 to 14 February 2026. The Academic Research and Careers for Students (ARCS) is an annual symposium hosted by ACM India, dedicated to providing a unique platform for research scholars in Computer Science and related fields across India.
