Contemporary Reinforcement Learning (RL) use cases include various automated operational decisions, like those of automated warehouse operations, vehicle routing, manufacturing systems, supply and value chains,  recommender systems of online marketplaces, traffic signal control, drones and other autonomous vehicle driving, etc. Including ChatGPT! In short, RL models have a significant role in any inter-active decision making context. 

Prashant Trivedi, Ph.D. student at IEOR, presented his work (under the supervision of Prof. N. Hemachandra) on "Multi-Agent Congestion Cost Minimization with Linear Function Approximations" at the 26th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Statistics (AISTATS) 2023 held at Valencia, Spain from 25-27 April 2023. 

IEOR participated in the 2022 Winter Simulation Conference (WSC) held at Singapore, from December 10th-14th, 2022.  The following works were presented

Jayendran Venkateswaran presented a paper titled "Agent Based Learning Environment for Survey Research", co-authers with Dr. Sayli Shiradkar, and Deepak C.  Prof. Jayendran V also chaired a session on "Simulation Education and Gaming".

The conference was also attended by IEOR alumni, Dr. Ketki Kulkarni, Dr. Ratnaji Vanga, Ms. Ankita Prasad.

Dr. Anoop K. P. (Post-Doctoral Fellow in IEOR) presented a paper titled An algorithmic approach for lower bound calculation in railway crew scheduling co-authored with Akshat Bansal and Narayan Rangaraj at the 15th International Conference on Advanced Systems in Pubic Transport (CASPT 2022) held during 6-10 November 2022 at Tel Aviv, Israel.

Ph.D. student Mustafa Vora presented his paper 'Cutting planes from Simplex tableau for Quadratically Constrained Problems', co-authored with Ashutosh Mahajan, in HUGO 2022 held in Szeged, Hungary between 6th to 8th September.

Ph.D. student Manoj Kumar presented a paper titled "Data driven treatment policies for dialysis patients" at the Annual Conference of the German OR Society, held at Karlsruhe, Germany from 6-9 Sept 2022

IEOR participated in the 2022 International System Dynamics Conference (ISDC) held in Frankfurt, Germany, during 18th-22nd July, 2022.  The following works were presented

Vinod Khandkar (IEOR, IITB), Prof. Manjesh K Hanawal (IEOR, IITB) presented a paper titled Challenges in Net Neutrality Violation Detection: A Case Study of Wehe Tool and Improvements. 

Ms. Shiksha Singhal and Prof. Veeranuna Kavitha presented a paper titled "Coalition formation and Resource Sharing Games in Network" in the 39th International Symposium on Computer Performance, Modeling, Measurements and Evaluation 2021 under session "Networks".

Ms. Shiksha Singhal presented paper titled "Coalition Formation in Constant Sum Queueing Games" in the 60th Conference on Decision and Control (CDC) held between December 13-15, 2021, at Austin, Texas.
