Utkarsh Verma defended his Ph.D. thesis on "Analysis of Kidney Exchange Programs and Deceased Donor Allocation Mechanisms" on 23 July, 2021. The external examiner for the defence was Prof Nomesh Bolia from IIT Delhi. With this, Utkarsh completes the requirements for his dual degree M.Sc.-Ph.d. from IEOR at IIT Bombay. He is currently with Micron Technology India.
As part of his Ph.D. work, Utkarsh worked with Apex Kidney Care and Dr V.Billa and Dr. U. Deepa and also the research group of Dr Piter Biro in Hungar
Prashant Palkar defended his PhD thesis on Shared-Memory Parallel Algorithms for Mixed-Integer Nonlinear Optimization on July 20, 2021. Prashant had obtained his MTech, also from IEOR, IIT Bombay earlier in 2007. After that he worked in industry before coming back for his PhD. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Augsburg University. Prof Sachin Jayaswal from IIM Ahmedabad was the external examiner in his defence.

Meenarli Sharma defended her Ph.D. thesis on convex mixed-integer nonlinear optimization and related problems. Meenarli had earlier completed her MTech in 2010 from IEOR. After brief stints in industry she had returned to IEOR for her PhD. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Augsburg University, Germany.
