IEOR welcomes Dr. Haseen Rahman to the IEOR family.
Dr. Haseen Rahman has joined the Department of IEOR as a postdoctoral fellow on 22nd February 2022. His research interest lies in Wireless communication, information theory, and Energy harvesting. He is focusing on resource allocation-related problems for energy harvesting communication.
IEOR congratulates Dr. Arun Verma for receiving COMSNETS best Ph.D. Thesis Award for his thesis 'Sequential Decision Problems with Weak Feedback'. A selection committee comprising of distinguished members of the COMSNETS Association was empowered to select the candidates for the best PhD thesis awards. The coveted awards carry a cash prize of INR 75000/-. Award.
Dr. Urban Larsson has joined IEOR as a fulltime Associate Professor (Visiting) starting in February 2022.
Dr. Larsson works in the area of Game Theory, Number theory, Discrete Mathematics, Computer Science and Algorithms. His main contributions find bridges between combinatorial games and the neighbouring disciplines. Urban has presented his research at more than 100 international conferences and seminars, he is an Associate Editor for International Journal of Game Theory, and he is the Editor of two Games of No Chance volumes.
The research paper, co-authored by Prof. Ashutosh Mahajan, 'Minotaur: a mixed-integer nonlinear optimization toolkit', has been awarded the '2021 Best Paper Award' by the editorial board of Mathematical Programming Computation Journal.
IEOR is very proud to announce that Prof. Narayan Rangaraj has been selected as a Fellow of the Operational Research Society of India (ORSI). The recognition is for his overall contribution to the field of Operations Research. It was conferred in the ORSI Annual Convention held in December 2021.
