Student Activities

Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) was observed in our country from 27th Oct to 2nd Nov. Vigilance Cell of IIT B organized an essay competition during VAW. The topic of the essay was Satark Bharat, Samriddh Bharat(Vigilant India, Prosperous India: My Roadmap): My Roadmap.

Sanket Mishra (Ph.D. student) secured 3rd prize in the essay competition. The prize and certificate will be given during the 26th Jan celebrations.

The Festival of Dusshera was celebrated at IEOR Department with great enthusiasm. A beautiful Rangoli welcomed everyone at the entrance along with a Marigold flower Mosaic. A few more Marigolds dotted the steps leading to the Puja Desk setup on the third floor of the building.  A Puja was organized by the students followed by refreshments. 

Elections of First Year M. Tech and M.Sc.- PhD batches were recently conducted wherein the following students have been appointed as the Class Representatives:

The 2019 issue of the annual departmental magazine Optimystic was released by IEOR head Prof. Narayan Rangaraj, Prof. P.V. Balaji (Dean R&D) and Mr. Anirudh Patil (Director, McKinsey Knowledge Centre, India) on the occasion of IEOR Day 2019.

The 2018 issue of the annual departmental magazine Optimystic was released by IEOR head Prof. Narayan Rangaraj, Dean (R&D) Prof. P.V. Balaji and Prof. N. Hemachandra on the occasion of IEOR Day 2018. During the occasion, Prof. Rangaraj noted that the first edition was launched in 2014, and commended the efforts of the students in resurrecting the magazine. He also hoped that the magazine would be a regular feature of IEOR and become an avenue for showcasing students' literary and research works.
