IEOR departmental magazine 'Optimystic' released

The 2017 issue of the annual departmental magazine Optimystic was released by IEOR head Prof. Narayan Rangaraj. During the occasion, Prof. Rangaraj noted that the first edition was launched in 2014, and commended the efforts of the students in resurrecting the magazine. He also hoped that the magazine would be a regular feature of IEOR and become an avenue for showcasing students' literary and research works.

Farewell to Graduating Students (2016)

A farewell function was organised by the IEOR Students Association for the 2016 passing-out batch of M.Tech and PhD students on 23 June 2016. IEOR faculty members joined in to spend some time with them. Vinay Rai, general secretary of IEORSA, was the presenter for the evening.

The graduating students introduced themselves briefly, shared their experiences in IEOR and on campus, and shared their future plans. They were then presented with gifts by the faculty members. The faculty members shared their thoughts and blessed the outgoing batch with their advice.

IEOR students represented IIT Bombay in the 50th Inter IIT Sports Meet

IIT Bombay hosted the 50th Inter IIT Sports Meet-Aquatics Meet during October 1-4, 2014, and the Main Meet during December 12-19, 2014. Out of 16 participating IITs, Bombay won the girls championship by a huge margin, while boys narrowly missed the third place.

Four students from IEOR participated in various events. Shilpi Bhargava, M.Tech. 2nd year student, took part in aquatics and won Silver in 50 meter Butterfly,  Bronze in 100 meter Freestyle, and secured 4th place in 50 meter Backstroke.

IEOR offices relocated

IEOR office, earlier located in room 308A in Mechanical Engineering building, has been relocated to room 323 in the same building. Also, Prof. P.G. Awate's and Prof. Narayan Rangaraj's offices have been shifted to room 304C and room 323 in the same building, respectively. The phone numbers of all the three offices remain unchanged.
