Madhu Dhiman, a Ph.D. student from our IEOR Department, had the privilege of attending the Data Science: Probabilistic and Optimization Methods II (DSPOM II) program at the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS), Bengaluru, from 04 August 2025 to 12 August 2025 -- a vibrant gathering of researchers and practitioners exploring the frontiers of probability and optimization.
The days were filled with inspiring talks, deep technical discussions, and those magical coffee-break conversations where ideas spark and connections form.
She also had the opportunity to present the poster titled “Optimal Control with L-infinity cost: incorporating peak minimization”, a work done with her supervisors Prof. Veeraruna Kavitha and Prof. Nandyala Hemachandra. Sharing the ideas and receiving insightful feedback from experts in the field was truly energizing.
