Dr. Manjesh Hanawal has joined IEOR

Dr. Manjesh Hanawal has joined IEOR family as an Assistant Professor on new year's day of 2016. He received a Ph.D. from INRIA and University of Avignon and M.Sc. (Engg.) from Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. Before joining us he was a postdoctoral researcher at Boston University. His research interests lie at the intersection of Communication Networks, Machine Learning, and Network Economics. He is currently developing learning-algorithms that use data efficiently.

We wish Prof. Hanawal all the best.

IEOR organised a workshop on operations planning and strategy on Indian Railways

Prof. Narayan Rangaraj and his collaborators organised on May 30 a workshop at IIT Bombay for operations planning and strategy in railways. The workshop brought together several experts and officials from CRIS, Railway Board, Western Railway and Central Railway divisions of the Indian Railways, and also researchers from industry and academia. The workshop featured talks, a panel discussion and a poster session.

Prof. Jayendran Venkateswaran has been promoted as Associate Professor, IEOR for his contributions to the Institute and department. He is a faculty member at IEOR, IITBombay since 2005.  His research and teaching interests are primarily in the areas of modeling, simulation and analysis of complex systems (viz. supply chains).
