Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at IIT Bombay is now a Department, and will be soon offering a full basket of degree courses, ranging from B.Tech (starting July 2024) to M.Sc., M.Tech and Ph.D. In addition, the minor program for B.Tech/BS students, IDDDP, short term courses, sponsored research, consulting, short-term etc, will continue, along with research and publishing.
IEOR is happy to announce that Dr. Priyank Sinha has joined as an Assistant Professor on 21-03-2024.
His research interests include Network Optimization, Transportation and Logistics Network Design, and Supply Chain Network Analysis.
Team Vajra representing the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, has achieved the Runner Up title at the recent Vimarsh 2023 5G Hackathon organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, and the Department of Telecommunications (DOT).
During the IEOR Day celebrations on March 16, 2024, the eagerly anticipated 2023-24 edition of our department's annual magazine, 'Optimystic', was officially launched. IEOR Day 2024, held on March 16th, 2024, at the SOM auditorium, aimed to unite professionals from various industries, academia experts, faculty, students, and alumni to explore the wide-ranging applications of IEOR techniques. The theme for the event was 'Spectrum of IEOR.'
Tushar Shankar Walunj, a fifth-year M.Sc.-Ph.D. dual degree student at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (IEOR), IIT Bombay, recently presented his collaborative research titled "Partition Form Cooperative Games in Two Echelon Supply Chain" at the ICORES 2024 conference held in Rome, Italy from February 24th to 26th, 2024. This work was conducted in collaboration with Gurkirat Wadhwa and Professor Veeraruna Kavitha.
The Games at Mumbai Workshop was conducted at Victor Menezes Convection centre (VMCC), IIT Bombay, Mumbai, India spanning from Jan 21st to Jan 25th, 2024. It was organized by Prof. Urban Larsson, Prof. Mallikarjuna Rao, along with Anjali Bhagat and Prem Kant from IEOR department, IIT Bombay. This comprehensive 5-day workshop commenced with a day dedicated to game playing on Sunday, January 21st, 2024.
The 62nd Interim Convocation of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay was held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 3.00 pm onwards in the Convocation Hall of the Institute. The event was live telecasted too and the recording can be found here.
