The 13th International Symposium on Modeling and Optimization in Mobile, Ad Hoc and Wireless Networks (WiOpt), held on May 25-29, 2015 at the IIT Bombay, Mumbai, India. This conference is a platform to discuss ideas related to modeling, performance evaluation, and optimization of wireless networks. More details can be seen here. Following papers from IEOR were presented during this conference in the technical session and various workshops.

Manu K. Gupta, M.Sc-Ph.D. student, presented the paper titled "On mean waiting time completeness and equivalence of EDD and HOL-PJ dynamic priority schemes in 2-class M/G/1 queue", a joint work with Prof. N. Hemachandra and Prof. Jayendran Venkateswaran, in the 8th International Conference on Performance Evaluation Methodologies and Tools (ValueTools).

The conference was held during December 9-11, 2014, at Bratislava, Slovakia. This is a focused conference in the areas related to random systems. More details can be seen here.

Ketki Kulkarni presented a paper in Winter Simulation Conference 2014

Ketki Kulkarni, Ph.D. student, presented the paper titled "Iterative simulation and optimization approach for job shop scheduling", a joint work with Prof. Jayendran Venkateswaran, in the Winter Simulation Conference. The Winter Simulation Conference (WSC) is the premier international forum for disseminating recent advances in the field of system simulation.

Ketki also gave a short talk and presented poster in PhD colloquium during conference.

Ratnaji Vanga, a fourth-year Ph.D. student, presented the paper titled "Facility Location Models for Pallet Supply Chain with End-of-life Tracking", a joint work with Prof. Jayendran Venkateswaran and Prof. Narayan Rangaraj, in the Joint Symposium on 44th International Conference on Computers & Industrial Engineering (CIE 44) and 9th International Symposium on Intelligent Manufacturing and Service Systems (IMSS’44).

The symposium was held during October 14-16, 2014, at Istanbul, Turkey.
 

 

IEOR participates in JDA Optimisation Summit

OPTSUM 2014 was organized by JDA Software India in Hyderabad on 6-7 March. Optimization and data-analytics experts from industry and academia met and discussed latest research in these areas. IEOR M.Tech. student Ruchir Santuka gave a talk on "Cutting Stock Problem with Setup Costs" and Prof. Ashutosh Mahajan talked about "Exploiting Structure in Mixed-Integer Nonlinear Optimization".

Anusuya won travel award for SIAM conference in optimization

Anusuya Ghosh, a research scholar, won SIAM student travel award for SIAM conference in optimization.

She will be presenting her paper on "Convex sets with semidefinite representable sections and projections", joint work with Prof. Vishnu Narayanan.

This is one of the prestigious conference in the field of optimization which will held in San Diego, California, USA this year during May 19 - 22, 2014.
