The IEOR IDPC is an IIT Bombay senate approved academic body that monitors the progress of all students registered with IEOR. As of October 2010, the IDPC consists of
- N.Hemachandra,
- Jayendran Venkateswaran,
- K.S.Mallikarjuna Rao,
- A.A.Diwan (CSE dept),
- S.A.Soman (EE dept),
- A.Subramanyam (Maths dept) and
- Narayan Rangaraj (convenor of the IDPC).
This committee is set up every calendar year. The main activities are to plan new academic initiatives (courses, programmes, credits, prerequisites, syllabus, etc.), plan admissions and to monitor the progress of students.
We have recently invited Vikas Vikram Singh and Violet Bhattacharyya to join the meetings of the IDPC, as student representatives, till further notice. They have been nominated by their Faculty Advisors and we welcome them to these meetings. All students are requested to be in touch with them also, as required. As you know, our group overall is quite well knit and any of you are free to approach any faculty or student for any discussion. The information above is one more channel, as the IDPC anyway meets once in two months or so.
The request is that, IN ADDITION and where relevant, (a) faculty advisors be kept informed about any matter to do with academic progress, including leave (b) instructors are kept informed about anything to do with particular courses and (c) The lab in charges (Prof JV for the M.Tech lab and Prof MR for the Research Scholar's lab) are kept informed about lab matters.
