Vaccination (Mandatory Instructions)

It has been reported by the Chief Medical Officer, IIT Bombay Hospital that most of the students remain unvaccinated and many students suffer from vaccine preventable diseases.  Following vaccines are recommended as pre-admission compulsory vaccination:-

1. Typhoid

2. Hepatitis A

3. MMR - 1 dose after age of 15 years.

4. Chickenpox

5. dT

Only those students in whom, vaccination is medically contraindicated should be exempted from these vaccination on production of medical certificate.

It has been decided to admit students in the Academic Year 2011-12 with partial vaccination and they must complete the required vaccination during the first semester. Registration for the second semester may be subject to complete vaccination as required by the IIT Hospital.

This is for information and further necessary action by all concerns.

 

IIT Hospital will arrange vaccination camp at the hospital from 5pm to 7pm on the following days :

  - 1st *to*  5th of August
  - 5th *to*  9th of September
  - 10th *to* 13th of October

The Vaccines offered and their prices are :

     Vaccine                                          Price in Rs

  1. Typhoid   (Single dose)                          60
     (One dose after June 2008 is essential)

  2. Hepatitis A (Double dose)                       1900
     (A double dose is offered, where the second should be taken after 6
months)

  3. MMR (Single dose)                               100
     (One dose after 15 years of age is essential)

  4. Chickenpox (Single dose)                        1000
     (Only if there is no history of chickenpox in past)

If you have taken all of the above vaccines, please submit the respective certificates with doctor's signature to the IIT hospital between *5pm and 6pm* on working days (Mon to Fri ). Report of verified vaccinations will be sent to the academic office within one month of their verification.
If you have not taken any vaccine or taken some but not all, complete the rest and get your certificate verified.
The Vaccination schedule/verification should be completed within four months,ie by the end of October, for all the new entrants.

All new entrants are required to submit the Vaccination Certificate/Vaccination Exemption Certificate at the time of Registration.
