Steps to Create a Webpage

How to create your Page and link it with your name on Student Page:

1. Login to IEOR website.

2. Say "Add Content" at the bottom right.

3. Say "Add Page".

4. Give Your Page a title, the title should be your Name.

5. Add content that you want to in the below area.

6. Note the address of the page.

7. Go to the bottom and Select "URL Path Setting". Make changes in the alias as you need. You should have your Name as your alias suffixed with "student/".
Eg. "students/ashish". Since no two people can have the same alias, you may go for some decent alternatives.

8. Save the page and note the webpage address.

9. Open IEOR student page from "People" drop down. or visit (https://www.ieor.iitb.ac.in/students)

10. Say Edit Page.

11. Select your name and choose HYPERLINK symbol(below BOLD, ITALICS symbol).

12. Enter your alias of step 7 ("students/ashish")and save the page.

 

Note: The Page will be available for general public to see, hence all information should be True. Keep it decent and formal.

Many Ph.D students already have their pages, you may want to go have a look to get an idea how you can design your page.

In Case you add an image to your page. It should be below 40kb in size.

Find the following steps useful while adding any "Publication" to the Department website.

Or on Homepage-->Research-->Publications

Step 1: Login into website with your LDAP ID and Password.

Step 2: In the bottom page, select option: Add Content

Step 3: Select Biblio.

Step 4: You can paste DOI into the appropriate place and say "Populate using DOI" or you can also paste BibTex.

Step 5: In case above is not applicable, Select the relevant publication type.

Step 6: A form will appear, fill in the necessary details.

Step 7(Optional): Set alternate URL in the URL Path setting that appears in the left pane on the lower side of the form. In the textbox put the following "research/publications/your_publication_name_here".

Step 8: Submit "Save". If there are any issues with your form, like say date it not mentioned, the page will prompt you to take necessary actions. Do the changes and finally Save.

To add your image

Step 0: Give a proper small name to your file, preferably your name or roll number.

Step 1: Towards bottom, in File attachments, select "Choose File". Upload the same.

Step 2: Once uploaded, the image appears as a list in the same section along with an already checked checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.

Step 3: Place your cursor where you wish to plant your image. Click on Image button in edit page toolbox at the top of Body section. (Above Left align button)

Step 4: Put source as "files/your_image_name.jpg"

Step 5: Adjust height and width to make it appear the way you want.
