Dr. Manjesh Hanawal has joined IEOR family as an Assistant Professor on new year's day of 2016. He received a Ph.D. from INRIA and University of Avignon and M.Sc. (Engg.) from Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. Before joining us he was a postdoctoral researcher at Boston University. His research interests lie at the intersection of Communication Networks, Machine Learning, and Network Economics. He is currently developing learning-algorithms that use data efficiently.
We wish Prof. Hanawal all the best.
IEOR has introduced a Minor for undergraduates. Visit the IEOR Minor page for course-requirements and other rules.
IEOR students and faculty members participated in Mining Intelligence and Knowledge Exploration, The Third International Conference, MIKE 2015, http://www.mike.org.in/2015/ at IIIT Hyderabad duing Dec 9-11, 2015.
Puja Sahu, a Research Scholar, presented a paper `A Geometric Viewpoint of the Selection of the Regularization Parameter in some Support Vector Machines' co-authored with Prof N. Hemachandra.
Alok Patel, a research scholar, presented a poster on "Optimal Signal Control for Pre-timed Signalized Junctions with Uncertain Traffic: Simulation based Optimization Approach", a joint work with Prof. Jayendran Venkateswaran and Prof. Tom V. Mathew in the Winter Simulation Conference (WSC) 2015, Dec. 6-9, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa, Huntington Beach, California, USA.
