GENERAL

Dileep More defends his Ph.D. Thesis

Dileep S. More defended his Ph.D. thesis titled "Some studies in supply chain flexibility" on 10 May, 2010. The external examiner for the defence was Prof G. Srinivasan from IIT Madras. Dileep is soon taking up an academic position at IIM Calcutta.

Prof. Joydeep Dutta (Department of Mathematics and Statistics, IIT Kanpur) visited the IEOR group between 27 and 30 July, 2009. He delivered a series of lectures: (1) Fundamentals of Mathematical Programming (2) Variational Inequalities (3) Gap Functions and (4) Nonlinear Complementarity Functions during his visit. These lectures were attended by senior students, research scholars and faculty from IEOR and other parts of the institute.
