Bio:
Prof Borkar is a Senior Professor at STCS, TIFR. He is well known for his basic contributions to control of diffusions, Markov decision
models, Leaning algorithms, etc. He has authored many research monographs as well as textbooks. He regularly gives plenary and invited talks at various conferences and has been on editorial boards of various journals. Among many honours that he has received, a few are IEEE Fellowship, Bhatnagar Award, Distinguished Alumnus Award from IIT Bombay, J. C. Bose Fellowship, etc. He also held regular and visiting positions at various places like IISc, MIT, UC Berkeley, etc.
