IEOR gets awarded for Implementing of Hindi in the Department

Dear All,

IEOR is recognised by the Institute for implementing Hindi in the Department. We have been presented with an award on 30/09/2025 in an event organised by the Hindi Office at PC Saxena Auditorium. This recognition is the fruit of the efforts of Prof. Jayendran Venkateswaran (Formed Head), Prof. Ashutosh Mahajan, Mr. Amlesh Kumar, Mr. Abasaheb Molavane, Mr. Pramod Pawar, Mr. Rupesh Anil Sonawane (System Administrator and RA), Mr. Siva Kumar Dogga (System Administrator and RA), Mr. Ishaan Mane (System Administrator and RA).  Congratulation to all of them.

Pintu Kumar, a research scholar at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (IEOR), IIT Bombay, presented his paper titled "EDN: A Novel Edge-Dependent Noise Model for Graph Data" at the European Conference on Machine Learning and Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases (ECML PKDD). The paper was co-authored by his supervisor, Prof. Nandyala Hemachandra.

Sachin Bodke attends Global Digital Health Summit 2025 held at Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai.

Mr. Sachin Bodke, PhD student in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (IEOR), IIT Bombay, attended the Global Digital Health Summit 2025, Expo & Innovation Awards held from 19th to 21st September 2025 at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai.

The summit, led by Dr. Rajendra Pratap Gupta, brought experts, policymakers, and innovators together to discuss how digital technologies are changing healthcare. Sachin had the chance to meet Dr. Rajendra Pratap Gupta and cricketer Ajinkya Rahane, and interact with them personally.

Sachin Bodke presented his research work “Understanding the Impact of Accessibility on Hemodialysis Outcomes in India” at the 51st Operational Research Applied to Health Services (ORAHS 2025) conference, held at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway, from 05th to 11th July 2025.

Madhu Dhiman, a Ph.D. student from our IEOR Department, had the privilege of attending the Data Science: Probabilistic and Optimization Methods II (DSPOM II) program at the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS), Bengaluru, from 04 August 2025 to 12 August 2025 -- a vibrant gathering of researchers and practitioners exploring the frontiers of probability and optimization.


The days were filled with inspiring talks, deep technical discussions, and those magical coffee-break conversations where ideas spark and connections form.

A happy occasion for IEOR, IIT Bombay. 46 students got their degrees today - 22 M.Tech degrees, 1 Ph.D., 1 MSc.-Ph.D., 3 M.S. by Research, 14 M.Sc., 1 PG-DIIT and 4 their Mtech as part of the IDDDP at IIT Bombay (i.e. B.Tech/B.S. in some other discipline). Added to those who go their Ph.D. degrees in the interim convocation, this is the largest number of Ph.D. graduates in an academic year and perhaps overall as well. The Chief Guest was Venkatesh Seshadri, who delivered a sharp and insightful address.
