The Department of Industrial Engineering & Operations Research (IEOR), IIT Bombay, in collaboration with CE & QIP, IIT Bombay, successfully concluded the 5th Naval Operations Analysis (NOA) Course from 4th March to 21st June 2024. Conducted over four months, the course covered basic mathematics, data analysis, applied probability and statistics, simulation, optimization, game theory, and specialized topics in Naval Operations (viz., Combat models, Search and Detection)
Aravind Kumar V, a student at IEOR, completed a summer internship from May 15 to July 14, 2026 at the FedEx South-Wing facility in Chandivali, Mumbai.
The Department of Industrial Engineering & Operations Research (IEOR), IIT Bombay, in collaboration with Educational Outreach, IIT Bombay, successfully concluded the 6th Naval Operations Analysis (NOA) Course on 19 June 2026. Conducted over five months, the programme equipped officers of the Indian Navy with advanced knowledge in operations research, analytical modelling, data-driven decision-making, and AI-enabled approaches for addressing complex operational challenges in defence.
The Stochastic Processes on Networks (SPoN) 2026 workshop is to be held on Aug 2-3, 2026 on the IEOR website.

PhD students Simran Lakhani and Debanjan Gangopadhyay along with MTech students Rijin Raj and Ishaan Mane from the department of IEOR attended the 6th Large-Scale Optimization (LSO 2026) summer school organized by IIT Delhi.
This summer school served as a great opportunity for the students to increase their knowledge about various topics in the field of Optimization and Decision Sciences. The LSO hosted speakers from various IIT's and IIM's and all these speakers were able to deliver really insightful sessions.
Hritiz Gogoi presented his PhD research work titled “Exactness of Semidefinite Relaxation of the Max-Cut Problem” at the SIAM Conference on Optimization (OP26), organized by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). The conference was held at The University of Edinburgh from June 2–5, 2026.
