51st Convocation of IIT Bombay was held on August 10, 2013 at Convocation Hall, IIT Bombay.

Mr. Deepak Singh, M.Tech. IEOR, Class of 2013, received "Institute Silver Medal" for the year 2012-13.

The Australian Society For Operations Research (ASOR), Melbourne Chapter, organized a one day conference with the topic "Recent Advances in OR 2013" on July 17, 2013. The conference was held at RMIT Melbourne, Australia, with an aim to give members the opportunity to exchange ideas and promote growth and activity in the OR community.

Prof Narayan Rangaraj visited University of Goettingen (Georg August Universitaet, Goettingen) from July 8-12, 2013. He visited the research group of Prof Anita Schoebel (Institute for Numerical and Applied Mathematics) and gave a talk on "Optimization Problems in Production Planning and Supply Chain Management" based on work done with students and colleagues at IIT Bombay.
