The 58th Convocation of IIT Bombay was held on 23rd August 2020. The main function of the convocation was held in the forenoon in the virtual mode, presided by Chief Guest Prof. Duncan Haldane, co-recipient of the 2016 Nobel Prize in Physics, and a Professor of Physics at Princeton University. Mr. Stephen A. Schwarzman, Chairman, CEO & Co-Founder of Blackstone, world-renowned investor and philanthropist was the Guest of Honour.
The department convocation function was held at 4 pm in the virtual mode. The event featured an address by our Head, Prof Jayendran Venkateswaran, messages by faculty, staff and students, both current and graduating.
Siddhartha Paul was awarded "Excellence in Ph.D. Research Award" 2020. His Doctoral thesis was on 'Medicine Supply Chain Management in Response to an Infectious Disease Outbreak', under the guidance of Prof Jayendran Venkateswaran. Shobhit Bhatnagar (183190009) was awarded the Institute Silver Medal for M.Tech in IEOR. Shobit's Masters thesis was on "Single and Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning in Changing Environments", under the guidance of Prof. N. Hemachandra.
