Prof. Veeraruna Kavitha and Prof. Ashutosh Mahajan celebrate 10 years in IEOR with “Two talks in one” seminar
A one-hour long seminar, “Two talks in one”, was held on Tuesday 21st June, at 11 AM, where both professors shared their research experiences. The seminar was held in the seminar room, IEOR building, and streamed over MS Teams for the online audience.
Prof. Ashutosh Mahajan marked his ten years at IIT Bombay by presenting on the topic “Automatic Differentiation for Non-Linear Optimization”. The talk was focused on the different approaches for differentiating non-linear functions and the current progress on the topic.
Prof. Veeraruna Kavitha presented on the topics “Fairness” and “Population Dynamics”, where she highlighted the importance of questions and failures during research to achieve success and higher understanding. The professor stated, “What you can learn from failures, you cannot learn from success”, summarizing her experience at IIT Bombay.
