Department orientation for the class of 2023 in M.Tech, MSc, and PhD courses was conducted by IEOR Students Association (IEORSA) on 28 July 2023 in room LC101. This event marked the beginning of the academic journey for the new entrants where IEOR faculties shared the welcome message and tips to excel in the academic environment. A few rounds of general questions about the student's hobbies, talents and interests made everyone speak and interact followed by a brief description of various clubs and societies in the institute. The department council members and the department representatives in various student bodies introduced themselves to the new students.
A short break for tea was taken followed by an overview of the IEOR interdisciplinary programme by Prof. J.Venkateshwaran. Prof P. Balamurugan, faculty advisor for M.Tech students, Prof V. Narayanan, faculty advisor for MSc students, and Prof A. Mahajan, faculty advisor for PhD students talked about the course work and other requirements for the M.Tech, MSc, and PhD students respectively.
