Tushar Walunj presented research work at ICORES 2024 conference in Rome

Tushar Shankar Walunj, a fifth-year M.Sc.-Ph.D. dual degree student at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (IEOR), IIT Bombay, recently presented his collaborative research titled "Partition Form Cooperative Games in Two Echelon Supply Chain" at the ICORES 2024 conference held in Rome, Italy from February 24th to 26th, 2024. This work was conducted in collaboration with Gurkirat Wadhwa and Professor Veeraruna Kavitha.
This study explores competition and cooperation in multi-echelon supply chains, focusing on interactions among agents within and across echelons. Specifically, it examines different possible collaborations between a supplier and two manufacturers, highlighting the impact of competitive strategies on revenue. Using partition form games, the study finds that the grand coalition is not stable when the product is essential and manufacturers are substitutable. The supplier tends to collaborate with the stronger manufacturer, but stability depends on the extent of their market power discrepancy. Notably, no stable collaborations emerge when manufacturers have similar market power
