The 5th edition of the Large Scale Optimization (LSO) Summer School was held from June 16–21, 2025, at IIT Bombay.
Organized by the Department of Industrial Engineering & Operations Research, the event brought together PhD students, faculty, and industry professionals.
Participants engaged in expert lectures and hands-on sessions covering topics like Benders decomposition, cutting plane methods, and robust optimization. The program facilitated insightful panel discussions and collaborative learning, strengthening the optimization research community.
This year’s edition continued the tradition of LSO schools previously held at IIM Indore, IIM Ahmedabad, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Roorkee. Attendees appreciated the practical applications demonstrated alongside theoretical concepts, enhancing their understanding of large-scale optimization techniques.Networking opportunities allowed participants to connect with experts and peers, fostering future research collaborations.
