Kritika Karwasra, a PMRF Research Fellow at IEOR, IIT Bombay, presented a paper "System Analysis of Train Operations on Rail Sub-network with Mixed Traffic and Steep Gradient",  co-authored with Prof. Narayan Rangaraj and Karuna Singh from Central Railways at the 16th World Conference on Transport Research (WCTR) 2023 conference held by CIRRELT University in Canada. Conference was held in Montreal, Canada from July 17 to July 21,2023.

Rishav Deval, a Senior research scholar student at IEOR, IIT Bombay, presented his work (as a virtual poster) titled "Emission-based Production and Inventory Control System and Carbon Market: Moving towards integrated framework", a paper co-authored with Prof. Jayendran Venkateswaran in 41st International System Dynamics Conference 2023 at Chicago, USA from 23 -27 July 2023. 
 

Department orientation for the class of 2023 in M.Tech, MSc, and PhD courses was conducted by IEOR Students Association (IEORSA) on 28 July 2023 in room LC101. This event marked the beginning of the academic journey for the new entrants where IEOR faculties shared the welcome message and tips to excel in the academic environment. A few rounds of general questions about the student's hobbies, talents and interests made everyone speak and interact followed by a brief description of various clubs and societies in the institute.

Arnab Bhabak joined IEOR as a post-doctoral fellow and will work with Prof. K.S. Mallikarjuna Rao. He has done his Ph.D. from IIT Guwahati based on the thesis titled "Stochastic Control Problems with Probability and Risk-sensitive Criteria". His primary research interest lies in solving control problems as well as game problems, in the discrete and continuous time setup. He is also interested in continuous-time Markov and semi-Markov Zero-sum games under probability criterion.
