Sachin Bodke completed his summer internship at Apex Kidney Care, Mumbai

Sachin Bodke, a PhD student in IEOR, successfully completed a summer internship with Apex Kidney Care in Chembur, Mumbai from May 15, 2024, to July 15, 2024. During this period, Sachin gained valuable insights into kidney health and dialysis treatments.
Sachin's internship involved significant projects, including:
1. The burden of depression amongst patients receiving hemodialysis at public and private dialysis centers and the factors contributing to it.
○ This project explored the various psychological factors that impact the mental well-being of chronic kidney patients, aiming to identify the most influential factors affecting their mental health.
○ This study has been accepted for publication in "The Indian Journal of
Nephrology".
2. Infection patterns in renal transplant recipients from western India and analysis of survival rates.
○ This project explored the infections that represent one of the major factors that affect graft and patient survival after transplantation. Recent covid 19 pandemics have also adversely affected the transplant population. Data on post-transplant infections and patient survival from western India is scarce.
○ This study has been accepted for publication in "The Indian Journal of
Nephrology".
3. Survival Analysis of Patients on Long-term Maintenance Hemodialysis Patients in India
○ This research focused on the survival rates of patients undergoing hemodialysis, analyzing factors that contribute to improved long-term outcomes for these individuals.
Sachin tried to understand these critical areas in kidney care. We congratulate Sachin on his
successful internship and look forward to his continued contributions to the field.
