Dr. Arnab Babak, Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of IEOR, presented his research at several prestigious academic events in 2023 and 2024.
1. Lectures on Probability and Stochastic Processes XVI, ICTS Bangalore, November 2023.
Towards this, Lectures on Probability and Stochastic Processes, an annual workshop was started in 2006. It is designed to have two mini-courses on topics of recent interest given by experts in the respective areas. These courses are expected to expose the participants to the important problems being considered in the current literature, as well as the available techniques to work with them. A large audience, which includes research scholars and young PhDs from different institutes and universities of India, as well as few foreign participants, are invited to the workshop. It is expected that this gathering will initiate collaborative work across different research centres of India. To facilitate this activity, the workshop has sufficient time for sessions, where researchers can pose and discuss problems that can be of interest to others in the audience.
The meeting has two mini courses, open problem sessions and short presentations by participants, there is also a poster session for the students. This gives them an opportunity to present their works to experts coming from various places within and outside India.
2. International Conference on Optimization with Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing, NIT Nagaland, November 2024 (Presented: Partially Observable Discrete-Time Discounted Markov Games with General Utility).
This conference is focused on the exploration of optimization tools available in artificial intelligence, machine learning, neural networks, etc. And also, deep insight is provided in game theory and its mechanism design to create new technologies of optimization for social and scientific achievements. The computer science, operations research and Game theoretical tools provide a new perspective to develop technologies to solve the issues of sustainable development.
The primary goal of the conference is to bring the academician, researchers, and industry professionals in a pivotal platform which will offer an opportunity for open discussion on the latest advancements, uses, and guidelines in AI, soft computing, and optimization and contribute to, Mathematical science and Engineering application.
3. Third Workshop on Dynamic Games and Applications, Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas, France, October 2024 (Presented: Partially Observable Zero-Sum Games with Piecewise Deterministic Markov Dynamics).
