IEOR Department Convocation for the class of 2023  took place on August 19th, 2023, at VMCC 21. The event was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Sandeep Juneja from TIFR.
Prof. Jayendran Venkateswaran, Head of the Department of IEOR, extended a warm welcome to esteemed guests, students, and their families. He presented the departmental report, which was followed by an introduction of the graduating cohort along with their remarkable achievements.

IEOR congratulates Prof. Narayan Rangaraj for recieving the Departmental Award for Excellence in Teaching for the year 2023. This is awarded by the Institute based on student feedback across multiple courses over the past five years. Prof. Narayan Rangaraj has been teaching several courses in IEOR, including Operations Analysis, Financial Engineering, Service and Infrastructure Systems and others.

Dr. Urban Larsson has joined IEOR as a full-time Associate Professor (Contract) starting from 30th March 2023.

Speaker: Prof. Omkar D. Palsule-Desai, Indian Institute of Management Indore

The team of four project members (Peddi Madhav, Vishal, Ketki Hulwan, Tanmay Goyal) visited the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation offices at Shastri Park, Mayur Vihar, and Karkarduma on a three-day visit to Delhi from 26-28 July 2023. The objective was to get firsthand exposure to their current operating procedures for managing the Timetabling and Crew Scheduling tasks, present the team’s progress and line of thought with them, and discuss and finalize the future plan for the development of the automation tool.
