Prof. Rangaraj honoured by the ORSI

 

IEOR is very proud to announce that Prof. Narayan Rangaraj has been selected as a Fellow of the Operational Research Society of India (ORSI). The recognition is for his overall contribution to the field of Operations Research. It was conferred in the ORSI Annual Convention held in December 2021.

Prof. Rangaraj completed 30 years in IEOR@IIT-Bombay in 2020. Apart from teaching in the area, he has contributed through his research work in OR Problems in areas like Logistics, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, along with Healthcare and others, but his primary interest has been Railway Operations. He has co-authored two books, Supply Chain Management for Competitive Advantage, Tata McGraw Hill, 2008 and Logistics and Supply Chain Management : Cases and Concepts, Macmillan, 2000. He has also contributed to the book, Corporate Restructuring : Crompton Greaves and the Challenge of Globalisation, Sage Publications, 1997. To date, he has supervised 14 Ph.D. students and continues to guide and mentor many students.

 

 

The Operational Research Society of India (ORSI) is an organization founded in 1957 to provide a forum for Operational Research Scientists to widen their horizon by exchange of knowledge and application of techniques.
