PhD scholar Hritiz Gogoi presented his research in SIAM Optimization Conference, held at University of Edinburgh

Hritiz Gogoi presented his PhD research work titled “Exactness of Semidefinite Relaxation of the Max-Cut Problem” at the SIAM Conference on Optimization (OP26), organized by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). The conference was held at The University of Edinburgh from June 2–5, 2026.

His work investigates structural conditions under which the standard semidefinite programming (SDP) relaxation for the Max-Cut problem is exact, and addresses two recent conjectures on the topic. This is joint work with Prof. Vishnu Narayanan, Prof. Avinash Bhardwaj and Abhishek Pathapati.

The SIAM Conference on Optimization is a leading international conference that brings together researchers working across a wide range of areas, including optimization theory, mathematical programming computation, operations research, game theory and machine learning.
