PhD student Dhawal Thakkar from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, IIT Bombay, presented two research works at the 30th International Symposium on Logistics.
The first work, titled “TRANSIT-Net: Transformer Vehicle Routing Architecture for Scalable, Intelligent, Traffic-aware Networks”, was authored by Dhawal Thakkar and Balamurugan Palaniappan. The second work, titled “HYDRA-Net: Hybrid Deep Routing and Arrangement Network”, was authored by Dhawal Thakkar, Dhanish Ahammed MV, and Balamurugan Palaniappan.
The symposium provided an excellent platform to present research on deep learning-based decision support systems for complex logistics problems, including traffic-aware vehicle routing and integrated routing-packing optimization. It also offered valuable exposure to recent developments in logistics, supply chain analytics, and optimization, along with opportunities to interact with researchers and practitioners working on real-world logistics challenges.
