Bhavya Gupta, PhD scholar in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (IEOR), IIT Bombay, presented her research at the International System Dynamics Conference 2026, held at TU Delft, Netherlands.
Her paper, titled "Modelling Dynamic Dual-Sourcing Supply Chain Resilience under Tariff Burden Sharing," was selected for a Parallel+ presentation, recognizing its contribution to the conference program.
The conference brought together leading researchers and practitioners from around the world, providing an excellent platform for exchanging ideas on recent advances in System Dynamics and its applications. During the event, Bhavya had the opportunity to interact with Prof. John Sterman of MIT Sloan School of Management, a pioneering figure in the field whose book Business Dynamics has inspired generations of researchers, including her own journey into System Dynamics.
The conference provided valuable insights into advanced scenario design, the integration of AI in System Dynamics research, and the practical application of System Dynamics by organizations to address complex real-world challenges. The experience reinforced the important role of international conferences in fostering collaboration and strengthening the connection between academic research and industry practice.
