Prof. Jayendran presents in 34th SDS conference
Prof. Jayendran attended the 34th International Conference of the System Dynamics Society organized at TU Delft, Netherlands during July 17th - July 21, 2016. He also participated in the System Dynamics summer school held at TU Delft from July 13th - 15th, 2016.
Prof. Jayendran presented a paper on "Inventory Management in Response to an Unfolding Epidemic", and a poster on "Modeling New Product Diffusion under Uncertainty". Both were joint work with his doctoral student Siddhartha Paul.

Faculty members give short Optimization course at IISc
IEOR faculty members K.S. Mallikarjuna Rao and Vishnu Narayanan gave a 10-lecture course on optimization at IISc as part of the IFCAM Summer School on Large-Scale Optimization, also organized as part of the National Mathematics Initiative.

PhD student Umakanta Pattanayak presented his work on Local Polyhedrality of Integer Hulls of Strictly Convex Sets at the Mixed-Integer Programming Workshop (poster), Miami, May 23--26, and at the SIAM Discrete Mathematics Conference (contributed talk), Atlanta, June 6--10.
