IEOR is pleased to inform that Prof Omkar Desai Palsule-Desai from IIM Indore is visiting us till mid September. He will be using  Room no. G005 during his visit.
 

Ph.D. student Nora Estgfäller from the Department of Civil Engineering, Monash University is visiting IEOR at IIT Bombay from 16 March to 22 March, 2018 on a mobility grant from her university.  She works in public transit issues (bus network design) in the group of Prof Graham Currie at Monash University.

IEOR had visitors from Mercedes Benz Research and Development India - MBRDI Bengaluru, which is part of Daimler Mercedes Benz worldwide, on 6 October, 2016.  Mr Satheeskaran Navaratnam (Vice President, IT and Engineering Services at MBRDI) and Mr Tilak Raj Singh (Senior Data Scientist at MBRDI - and also a research scholar at IEOR) gave a talk on "IT @ MBRDI : Data - the new Oil", and had discussions with students and faculty.  The visit is expected to lead to further interaction between MBRDI and IEOR@IIT B.

Prof. Ashwin Arulselvan from University of Starthclyde, UK, gave a series of five lectures in February-March 2015 on obtaining convex hulls of integer linear programs

Part 1: Lift and project technique and Balas' sequential convexification procedure to obtain convex hulls.

Part 2: Some procedures for construction of hierarchy of relaxations like those of Sherali-Adams, Lovasz-Schrijver and Lasserre.

Prof. Sreekar Vadlamani, Visiting Faculty of IEOR, will be giving a series of lectures on "Stochastic Analysis: Malliavin Calculus". The first lecture will be held in Seminar Hall (Ground Floor) of CSE building at 11AM on 5th July.
