IEOR is pleased to inform that Prof. Sriram Sankaranarayanan from IIM Ahmedabad is visiting from April 10th, 2023 to April 21st 2023.  Prof. Sankaranarayanan is an Assistant Professor at IIM Ahmedabad in the area of Production and Quantitative Methods. His research interest lies in solving game-theoretic and optimisation problems that include integer variables. In particular, he has worked on mixed-integer linear programming, complementarity problems and mixed-integer bilevel programming.

IEOR had visitors from Mercedes Benz Research and Development India - MBRDI Bengaluru, which is part of Daimler Mercedes Benz worldwide, on 6 October, 2016.  Mr Satheeskaran Navaratnam (Vice President, IT and Engineering Services at MBRDI) and Mr Tilak Raj Singh (Senior Data Scientist at MBRDI - and also a research scholar at IEOR) gave a talk on "IT @ MBRDI : Data - the new Oil", and had discussions with students and faculty.  The visit is expected to lead to further interaction between MBRDI and IEOR@IIT B.

Prof. Ashwin Arulselvan from University of Starthclyde, UK, gave a series of five lectures in February-March 2015 on obtaining convex hulls of integer linear programs

Part 1: Lift and project technique and Balas' sequential convexification procedure to obtain convex hulls.

Part 2: Some procedures for construction of hierarchy of relaxations like those of Sherali-Adams, Lovasz-Schrijver and Lasserre.

A visit and lecture series by Prof. Joydeep Dutta ieoradmin

Prof. Joydeep Dutta (Department of Mathematics and Statistics, IIT Kanpur) visited the IEOR group between 27 and 30 July, 2009. He delivered a series of lectures: (1) Fundamentals of Mathematical Programming (2) Variational Inequalities (3) Gap Functions and (4) Nonlinear Complementarity Functions during his visit. These lectures were attended by senior students, research scholars and faculty from IEOR and other parts of the institute.
