IEOR Department Participates in GAME-ARTS, Game Theory, Mechanism Design and Artificial Intelligence Symposium, at IISc

The Game Theory Lab at the Department of Computer Science and Automation, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, organized the GAME-ARTS, Game Theory, Mechanism Design and Artificial Intelligence  Symposium, which saw a significant turnout from the IEOR department. Attendees included students, alumni, and faculty members such as Prof. N. Hemachandra, Prof. K.S. Mallikarjuna Rao, Prof. Urban Larsson, and Prof. P. Balamurugan.

Sachin Bodke completed his summer internship at Apex Kidney Care, Mumbai

Sachin Bodke, a PhD student in IEOR, successfully completed a summer internship with Apex Kidney Care in Chembur, Mumbai from May 15, 2024, to July 15, 2024. During this period, Sachin gained valuable insights into kidney health and dialysis treatments.
Sachin's internship involved significant projects, including:
1. The burden of depression amongst patients receiving hemodialysis at public and private dialysis centers and the factors contributing to it.

IEOR at EURO OR 2024 in Copenhagen

IEOR had a strong presence at EURO OR 2024 in Copenhagen, Denmark from June 30, 2024 to July 3, 2024.  Ph.D. student Kritika Karwasra presented "Optimal use of in-house and outsourced vehicles", based on her Ph.D. work.  Prof V. Kavitha presented "Algorithms to solve Risk Sensitive MDPs, Games and Applications", based on work with her Ph.D. students Vartika Singh and Tushar Walunj.

Prof. Urban Larsson and his research group visited IIT Gandhinagar

Prof. Urban Larsson and his research group, consisting of Prem Kant, Ankita Dargad, and Anjali Bhagat, were invited to give their talks at the Centre of Creative Learning in collaboration with the Computer Science & Engineering Department, IIT Gandhinagar. Prof. Larsson gave his talk titled “The Fundamental Theorem of normal play.”
