Visit

The team of four project members (Peddi Madhav, Vishal, Ketki Hulwan, Tanmay Goyal) visited the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation offices at Shastri Park, Mayur Vihar, and Karkarduma on a three-day visit to Delhi from 26-28 July 2023. The objective was to get firsthand exposure to their current operating procedures for managing the Timetabling and Crew Scheduling tasks, present the team’s progress and line of thought with them, and discuss and finalize the future plan for the development of the automation tool.

Tushar Walnuj, Shiksha Singhal, Madhu, Gurkirat Wadhwa, and Vartika Singh, research scholars from IEOR, attended the lectures on Probability and Stochastic Processes (LPS), at the workshop organized at the Indian Institute of Science(IISc) during Dec 2 - Dec 6, 2022. They also participated in the following mini-courses during their visit.

Prof. Narayan Rangaraj, then Head of Department at Industrial Engineering & Operations Research, IIT Bombay visited Japan for industry-research collaboration from April 14th -21st, 2019. He is distinctly known for his work with Indian Railways, Supply Chain Management, and Transportation Planning in India and abroad.

IEOR student visited manufacturing unit of John Deere, Pune on 17th of October 2019. The visit was aimed at taking a closer look of application of Industrial Enginnering and Operations Research in practice. Students were able to see Simulations used for different purposes from managing the optimal funtioning of the unit to testing new designs.

Prof. Jayendran Venkateswaran, along with Prof. Chetan S. Solanki (Energy Science and Engineering), Prof. N.C.Narayanan (CTARA) and other project staff members attended the one day National level Consultation Workshop on Million Solar Urja Lamp (SoUL) Program, jointly organised by Ministry of New & Renewable Energy and IIT Bombay on 11th December 2015 at New Delhi, India.  The workshop was held to discuss the concept, outcomes and pathway forward for the Million Solar Urja Lamps (SoUL) project.

The ninth meeting of Lectures on Probability and Stochastic Processes held at Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata during December 12 - 16, 2014. IEOR students Ashish Chandra, Akash P.B., Sandhya Tripathi, Ravi Kant Rai, Arko Chatterjee, M. Venkateswararao. K, Kaushal Kumar Singh Gautam and Debayan Das attended this meeting.

IEOR students Sandhya Tripathi, Tushar K. Satish, Prathamesh Mayekar and Manu K. Gupta attended IFCAM Summer School on Applied Mathematics at IISc, Bangalore. Prof. Narayan Rangaraj visited Monash University and CSIRO, Melbourne, Australia as part of a team from IIT Bombay visiting the two institutions during March 4-7, 2014.
