IEOR participates in ICORDS 2019 at IIM Visakhapatnam
IEOR Students and Faculty participated in the International Conference on Operations Research and Decision Sciences 2019 held at IIM Visakhapatnam from 28 Dec - 30 Dec, 2019.
IEOR Students and Faculty participated in the International Conference on Operations Research and Decision Sciences 2019 held at IIM Visakhapatnam from 28 Dec - 30 Dec, 2019.
Ms. Tejas Ghorpade presented her paper on, "Rolling Horizon Models for Inter-Depot Empty Container Repositioning" at the Winter Simulation Conference, 2019 held in National Harbor, Maryland from 8th to 11th December 2019. This is joint work with Prof. Narayan Rangaraj. This work defines the Inter-depot Empty Container Repositioning Problem and proposes a heuristic real-time decision model to address it. The heuristic is based on Node-wise Decomposition of a Approximate Dynamic Programming based Value Approximation Model.
IEOR students and faculty participated in the annual conference of the Society of Operations Management 2019 at IIT Kanpur from 20-21 December, 2019.
Mallikarjuna Reddy P (Demand Forecasting and end to end supply chain optimization in tractor manufacturing industry), Ratnesh Srivastava (Industrial engineering application in production unit) and Praneeth Akonda (Industry implementable part launch sequence optimization) presented papers at the conference and Jayendran Venkateswaran also attended.
IEOR had a strong presence in ORSI-2019, the annual convention of the Operational Research Society of India, held at IIM Ahmedabad from 15-18 December 2019.
Firstly, Ashutosh Mahajan, Prashant Palkar, Meenarli Sharma and Mustafa Vora conducted a pre-conference workshop on the Minotaur software suite, for Mixed-Integer Nonlinear Optimization problems.
