Ms. Tejas Ghorpade presents at Winter Simulation Conference, 2019

Ms. Tejas Ghorpade presented her paper on, "Rolling Horizon Models for Inter-Depot Empty Container Repositioning" at the Winter Simulation Conference, 2019 held in National Harbor, Maryland from 8th to 11th December 2019. This is joint work with Prof. Narayan Rangaraj.  This work defines the Inter-depot Empty Container Repositioning Problem and proposes a heuristic real-time decision model to address it.  The heuristic is based on Node-wise Decomposition of a Approximate Dynamic Programming based Value Approximation Model.

IEOR participation in SOM 2019 at IIT Kanpur

IEOR students and faculty participated in the annual conference of the Society of Operations Management 2019 at IIT Kanpur from 20-21 December, 2019.

Mallikarjuna Reddy P (Demand Forecasting and end to end supply chain optimization in tractor manufacturing industry), Ratnesh Srivastava (Industrial engineering application in production unit) and Praneeth Akonda (Industry implementable part launch sequence optimization) presented papers at the conference and Jayendran Venkateswaran also attended.

Ms. Puja Sahu presented her work, "Optimal PAC-Bayesian Posteriors for Stochastic Classifiers and their use for Choice of SVM Regularization Parameter" at the Eleventh Asian Conference on Machine Learning (ACML 2019) held in Nagoya, Japan, from 17th to 19th November 2019. This is a joint work with Prof. N. Hemachandra. Originating in the Asia-Pacific Region, ACML aims at providing a leading international forum for researchers in machine learning and related fields to share their original research findings ,new ideas and achievements.
