Kritika Karwasra, a current PhD student in IEOR, presented her research work, supervised by Prof. Narayan Rangaraj, at the 33rd European Conference on Operational Research 2024, held at DTU - the Technical University of Denmark, Copenhagen, Denmark, from 30th June to 3rd July. This study focused on optimizing the use of in-house and outsourced vehicles in supply chains, a critical aspect of the expanding supply chain networks.

IEOR had a strong presence at EURO OR 2024 in Copenhagen, Denmark from June 30, 2024 to July 3, 2024.  Ph.D. student Kritika Karwasra presented "Optimal use of in-house and outsourced vehicles", based on her Ph.D. work.  Prof V. Kavitha presented "Algorithms to solve Risk Sensitive MDPs, Games and Applications", based on work with her Ph.D. students Vartika Singh and Tushar Walunj.

Raghupati Vyas a research fellow of IEOR IIT Bombay participated in the 4th annual IISc-CNI Summer School 2024 on "Algorithmic Structures for Emerging Wireless Networks and Statistical Inference in Large Dimensional Spaces," led by Professor Jean-Francois Chamberland from Texas A&M University at College Station.

Divya Jyoti Bajpai, a research fellow at IEOR, IIT Bombay presented a paper "I-SplitEE: Image classification in Split Computing DNNs with Early Exits",  co-authored with Aastha Jaiswal, and Prof. Manjesh Kumar Hanawal at the International Conference on Communications 2024 conference held at Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, Denver, Colorado, USA. The dates for the conference were June 9, 2024, to June 13, 2024.

IEOR is happy to announce that Dr. Saurabh Jain has joined as an Assistant Professor. Saurabh Jain completed his PhD from Systems & Industrial Engg at the University of Arizona in 2021, and has since worked in Intel  Corporation as OR Engineer. Saurabh Jain's research interests are in simulation modeling & analysis, data driven decision support, etc.
