IEOR wins 3rd place in Clean Campus Drive 2024

IEOR pleased to announce that IEOR has secured 3rd prize in clean campus drive, as a part of the "Clean & Green Campus Initiative 2024". The award certificate was announced & presented on 2 Oct 2024, coinciding with the birth anniversaries of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhiji and the third Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastriji, who symbolize values like cleanliness, sustainability, and integrity.   The award certificate is kept in the office.

Prem Kant, a Research Scholar from the Department of IEOR at IIT Bombay, presented a paper titled "Constructive Comparison in Bidding Combinatorial Games," co-authored with Prof. Urban Larsson, Ravi K. Rai, and Akshay V. Upasany, at the 26th Japan Conference on Discrete and Computational Geometry, Graphs, and Games (JCDCG^3). The conference, a prominent event in this field, was held at the Tokyo University of Science, Kagurazaka Campus, from September 10-12, 2024.

A happy occasion for IEOR, IIT Bombay. 46 students got their degrees today - 22 M.Tech degrees, 1 Ph.D., 1 MSc.-Ph.D., 3 M.S. by Research, 14 M.Sc., 1 PG-DIIT and 4 their Mtech as part of the IDDDP at IIT Bombay (i.e. B.Tech/B.S. in some other discipline). Added to those who go their Ph.D. degrees in the interim convocation, this is the largest number of Ph.D. graduates in an academic year and perhaps overall as well. The Chief Guest was Venkatesh Seshadri, who delivered a sharp and insightful address.
