Title: Analysis of Large-Scale Networks
Venue: IEOR Seminar Room
Date and time: 26 December 2024 (Thursday), 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Abstract: Large-scale networks arise in many areas of operations research, for example, as models of call centers, wireless and wired communication networks and neural networks. In this talk I will provide a survey of some mathematical techniques that are useful for the performance of these networks. The talk will be aimed at undergraduate students.
Research scholars Kritika, Santosh, and Rishav from the Department of IEOR attended the 51st International Conference on Computers and Industrial Engineering (CIE51), organized at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. This event was held in collaboration with the Decision Sciences and Analytics Group at UNSW and the Centre for Sustainable Operations and Supply Chain Resilience at the University of Adelaide from December 9 to 11, 2024. They presented their following respective works
Madhu Dhiman, a PhD student at IEOR, IIT Bombay, under the supervision of Prof. N. Hemachandra and Prof. Veeraruna Kavitha. She visited INRIA, Sophia Antipolis, France, for the LION research project, working under Prof. Konstantin Avrachenkov.
The POMS India International Conference 2024, organized by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi, in december served as a premier platform for discussions on operations management and supply chain innovations. Centered on the theme, "Reimagining Future of Operations for Resilience and Sustainability in a Digital World," the event featured diverse tracks and engaging sessions. I had the opportunity to present my paper titled "Quantifying Supply Chain Resilience: A System Dynamics Approach”.
Santosh Palaskar, a research fellow at IEOR, IIT Bombay, presented the paper "HRA: Heuristic Reordering Approach for Preserving Dependency in Hierarchical Time Series Forecasting", co-authored with Prof. Nandyala Hemachandra and Prof. Narayan Rangaraj at ICPR 2024. The conference was held at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre
Kolkata, India, from December 01-05, 2024.
Sachin Bodke, a research scholar from the Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (IEOR) department, recently conducted a research survey in five states; for this survey, between December 1 and December 11, 2024, he visited four centres in Delhi operated by Apex Kidney Care.
Speaker: Prof. Ketan Savla, University of Southern California
Venue: IEOR Seminar Room
