Student Activities

 Tech-Connect is the annual technical exhibition held at IIT Bombay to showcase projects done by IIT-Bombay’s students and faculty. It aims to highlight the diverse contributions of IIT Bombay  in the fields of operations research, healthcare, energy, defence, wireless communication, information technology and material sciences.

IEOR students actively participated in the sports event held at the Institute.

IEOR won gold in table tennis (girls). The team consisted of Ketki Kulkarni (captain), Neha Phatak and Indu Choudhary. Ketki was unbeaten throughout in the singles tournament. Ketki and Neha were unbeaten in the doubles tournament as well.

IEOR won silver in badminton (boys). The team consisted of Pritam Kamble (captain), Yogesh Valunj and Debayan Das. Pritam was unbeaten in the singles throughout the tournament.

IEOR@IITB is arranging a LaTeX workshop for all the new students of our department.

It is mandatory for all new students to attend this workshop.

LaTeX is a document preparation system for high-quality typesetting. It is most often used for medium-to-large technical or scientific documents but it can be used for almost any form of publishing.

Vikas Vikram Singh gave a talk on "Constrained Stochastic Games with Independent State Processes: A Mathematical Programming Approach" on July 11, 2011.  He is presenting this work at the Eighth International ISDG (International Society of Dynamic Games) Workshop at Padova, Italy between July 21 - 23, 2011.This is a joint work with Prof. N Hemachandra.

Farewell for IEOR M.Tech 2011 batch was organised on 8th May 2011 at Gulmohar. Passing out students shared their experiences and thoughts. Prof. Narayan Rangaraj, Prof. Prakash Awate and Prof. Jayendran Venkateswaran joined with other students on this occasion.

We thank them for their initiatives and cooperation offered to IEOR.

Ketki Kulkarni, Research Scholar was awarded Institute Colour of Excellence in Sports for the year 2010-11.

PG Cult 2011 saw a huge participation from IEOR in Dramatics, Letter-writing, Singing, Painting, Photography,  Logic Quiz, Uncut Video Making, Ad-making, Mono-Acting, and Mr and Ms PG.

The Sports Season has come to an end with lots of stories.  Here is a glimpse of PG sports of the year 2010-11 through a very nice video.

Chandrama Naha and Krishna Chaitanya V. of M.Tech 2nd Yr won 2nd and 4th positions respectively in break-up letter writing at PG-Cult 2011. This makes IEOR the leading department in break-up letter writing with 19.5 points.
